Our Services

Diagnostic Imaging at the Cat Clinic of Iowa City

There may be a need for diagnostic imaging at some point in your pet’s life, such as radiographs (x-rays) or an ultrasound scan (sonogram).

The Cat Clinic of Iowa City uses the newest diagnostic imaging technologies to give you and your pet the best, most complete veterinarian treatment possible.

Dr. Hayes and Cat

Digital Radiography (x-ray) Services

Digital radiography produces clear, detailed x-rays of your cat. Digital x-ray technology is considerably superior to conventional x-ray technology; not only is radiation dose reduced, but it is also a safer option for the environment because no hazardous chemicals are used in any way during the film-making process. We can view and analyze your pet’s x-ray image right away on thumb drive. You can receive the photographs through email or take a CD of your pet’s x-rays home with you. Additionally, our vets have the option to send the pictures instantly and directly to board-certified veterinary radiologists, surgeons, and internists for help with x-ray review and interpretation at the push of a button.

Comprehensive Ultrasound (Sonogram) Services

Cat Clinic of Iowa City offers diagnostic ultrasounds to our clients. This is a non-invasive, non-painful way to investigate what might be going inside your pet. Our veterinarians use ultrasound to look for bladder stones or tumors, scan internal organs for problems, identify pregnancy, and measure organs and changes within organs. Ultrasound can provide a diagnosis sometimes without the need for surgery.
